Alabsheer Show is Iraqi Friday and Mondaynights Iraqi political comedy airing on YouTube, its own Facebookpage “Albasheer show”. The half-hour long show premiered on August30, 2014, and is hosted by Ahmed Albasheer. The show produced by“Horizon Light for TV production and Distribution”. “Albasheershow” focused on Iraqi politics and national media in the languageof the streets of Iraq. It is the 1st Iraqi political comedy show.The show typically opens with a long monologue by AhmedAlbasheer talking about recent Iraqi headlines and frequentlyfeatures exchanges with one or more of several “correspondents”,who adopt absurd or humorously exaggerated takes on current eventsagainst Ahmed’s straight man persona. Sometimes these are very overthe top but certainly fit with the “Arab style” of comedy. Thefinal segment is devoted to summarize the episode than giving theunderlying message.
